About Sir Geoff Hurst:
Sir Geoff Hurst, born on December 8, 1941, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, is a legendary figure in English football history. His crowning achievement came on 30 July 1966, when he wrote his name into sporting history books by scoring the first hat-trick in the FIFA World Cup Final, leading England to a memorable 4-2 victory over West Germany at Wembley Stadium.
Hurst began his professional career with West Ham United in 1959, where he enjoyed tremendous success, winning the FA Cup in 1964 and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1965. His prolific goal-scoring abilities and clinical finishing earned him widespread acclaim, cementing his status as one of England's finest forwards.
Following his playing career, Hurst transitioned into management and coaching, contributing his expertise to various clubs and organizations. Knighted in 1998 for his services to football, Sir Geoff Hurst remains an enduring symbol of sporting greatness and a beloved figure in the hearts of football fans worldwide.
